Understanding the Codex Alimentarius
In other words, these people have been working towards CENTRAL PLANNING on a global scale. This is the idea that there should always be a central location where those possessed of God-like abilities and wisdom decide how each of the 6.5 billion people on earth should live. It's like our current national system in Canada, only much more god-like. At the international level, bureaucrats have to be very very bright and very wise - and also good! I think it would be hard to find words to describe this level of humanity. To believe in central planning requires that you sustain a constant fantasy about human malleability, that somehow you know what's best for everybody else and that they will actually go along with your plans. This fantasy is kept alive by power lust and socialist delusions. I wouldn't mind if Codex was only an association of experts who cooperated on creating standards that businesses and individuals could accept or reject as they pleased. But in that case we would be describing a voluntary situation based on personal sovereignty, customer choice, and basic laws that protect against murder, theft and fraud. However, that kind of classical liberal ideal must be considered very primitive and inadequate for those who intend to force their standards on people globally.

Now I'll spoil the quotation, which would have a clearer meaning in the context of Jefferson's other statements. I like it, but I would replace the word "care" with "protection" and limit the protection to "human life" instead of adding "happiness". If you take the quote too literally, you would end up with the government getting involved in managing the literal happiness of individuals, so we would have a Brave New World kind of tyranny, and I'm sure that's not what Jefferson meant.

Covers the charges against her husband that the media ignored. Her mental state was disputed. Due process was not followed. She had no legal representation. She was not on life support. The courts ordered that no attempt be made to provide her water or food by mouth! Contains a description of death by dehydration, which is terrible. I'm glad to see that some on the "Left" like Henthoff and Nader are able to see the injustice here. The words "Right" and "Left" in a political context are now officially meaningless.
