Tax, property rights, Ontario municipality tries to make rural residents pay for village water/sewage
Tax protest and property rights – Ontario municipality trying to make rural residents pay for village water/sewage system
No way, we won’t pay say residents of Madawaska Valley www.valleygazette.ca | January 9, 2013 Also: Combermere residents say ‘no’
“I am against rural residents of the Madawaska Valley paying for the Village of Barry’s Bay’s water/sewage system and advise my elected officials to vote NO on this issue,” is what many of the attendants were signing in agreement with.
So we have an example of an expensive project for the village – because of the nature of urban areas, or to satisfy environmental regulations or to improve the appearance of the area (Agenda 21 “community improvement”) – becoming a potential oppressive burden on the rural population.
This seems to be the pattern everywhere. Was this also the point of the amalgamation of municipalities (centralization) years ago, so that “Sustainable Development” UN groups and governments can push councils who have a larger tax base to justify spending on expensive projects?
What happens to those who can’t afford the potential tax increases who live in rural areas? The economic pressure pushes them to move to more urban areas, right? People become less able to sustain themselves independently.
It would be better if everyone pushed back against divide-and- conquer United Nations Agenda 21 urbanization and standardization policies.
More people could make it their goal to live in a rural setting if possible outside of villages, towns and cities.
Also, people should try to cancel any expensive projects that councils are considering and ignore promises of cash from higher levels of government.
