Controversial bill blocked undemocratically by committee, Canadian members of parliament start fighting back
Parliamentary reform motion would help lawmakers who bring up controversial topics like abortion LifeSiteNews.com | April 18, 2013
While MP Mark Warawa has backed down on taking his motion, M-408 [on gendercide] — quashed by a committee — to the level of a secret ballot in the House, his saga may have just become the catalyst MPs needed to pursue freedom to act in Parliament without being silenced by the brokers of party power.
Reality check: Canadians may have thought they were already voting for representatives who had freedom of action in Parliament.
Conservative MP Brad Trost (Saskatoon-Humboldt) has been quietly promoting his Motion 431 since February, which if passed, would give more power to backbenchers.
M-431 would allow backbenchers to elect committee chairs through a vote of the House instead of the current method, where chairs are simply appointed by higher powers.
“M-431 will allow a greater number of Members of Parliament to be more independent,” wrote Trost on his website earlier this month.
The motion would come as a boon to MPs who want to bring controversial topics up in Parliament but who fear having their efforts stymied by Prime Minister Harper’s ironclad party discipline. …
This incident is a perfect example and also the tip of the iceberg, because people don’t even know what government bills are being passed and why.
It would be nice if Christians and everyone else could stop worshiping government for a moment and figure out that there is just one agenda.
“Left” and “right” is fake. Major parties are controlled by globalist robber- baron think-tanks like the Council on Foreign Relations.
There is only a show of democracy in Western nations. Natural law, as well as traditional religion, love it or hate it, has been subverted already from the top down. Traditional culture and norms have been subverted deliberately. For the elites, there is no turning back.
Everyone needs to drop their knee-jerk loyalties to fake political parties with their fake rhetoric.
I heard the episode of CBC Radio’s The House in which the reporter was troubled by how this motion was suppressed and nobody got a chance to vote on it.
But normally the elite-controlled media (public and private) tell you what you’re supposed to believe. Usually they belittle the concerns of real people whether they’re on the left or right. Another example was the coverage of the NDP convention. They tell you what is acceptable to talk about and what isn’t. It’s political correctness. There are very “important people” telling us what to expect from government.
To them, for example, the word “austerity” is really cool, as if there is something acceptable about raising the retirement age, potentially taxing pensions or grabbing money from bank accounts in order to prop up big banks.
All the major parties have the same agenda of globalism. They’re on board with the wars more than ever, with “sustainable development” (energy taxes, population controls, climate change propaganda), “free trade” agreements (not having a job), “temporary foreign worker program” (not having a job), bailing out banks, “bail-ins”, etc. Lots of disgusting Orwellian terminology that flies over everyone’s head. What do these policies mean? They mean poverty. And fewer children being born. Poverty is so cool. Not having children is cool. Being a slave to government debt is cool. Not having any rights and freedoms, not having any free speech left. This is what all the political parties stand for in reality, never mind the rhetoric.
MP’s should start reconsidering what they’re involved in. Maybe some of them have a conscience.
