TransCanada expropriates land in Texas
TransCanada Seizes Land In Texas By Eminent Domain Walter Brasch, dandelionsalad.wordpress.com | May 19, 2013
. . . TransCanada is an Alberta-based corporation that is building the controversial Keystone Pipeline that will carry bitumen—thicker, more corrosive and toxic, than crude oil—through 36-inch diameter pipes from the Alberta tar sands to refineries on the Gulf Coast, mostly to be exported. . . .
(By the way, one of the commenters insists that TransCanada is American-owned.)
Does either side uphold property rights? Seizing land against the wishes of the property owner–whether for “public” or “private” reasons–is just as bad as government giving subsidies to big companies and putting everyone else at a disadvantage. Society is all about pushing people around, worshiping power and training us to conform.
