Alberta flood evacuations predictably turn into martial law exercises–residents angry as RCMP seize guns from homes — “not allowed” to return to “their” homes – “authorities” still deciding
‘Hell to pay:’ Residents angry as RCMP seize guns from High River homes (http://www.calgaryherald.com/business/mortgages/Hell+Residents+angry+RCMP+seize+guns+from+High+River+homes+with+video/8588851/story.html)
In the video, evacuated residents challenge the RCMP–at the police blockade complete with spikes–about the declaration that their homes are still unsafe after so many days being kept away.
They’re “not allowed” to return.
Of course it’s someone “higher” up who decides when slaves get to go home. So much for “evacuation” during emergencies. Emergencies just become opportunities for testing public compliance and acceptance of new levels of rights violations. Another example of this type of exercise was the 2010 G20 meeting.
Is this testing the waters for future austerity measures and “Smart Growth” or hardship-causing “environmental” laws and new property codes we can’t afford?
A few strong-willed people show up and many more probably stay away.
