Drugs and religion key themes in Ottawa shooter’s troubled life

Crack addict, wasn’t getting along with anybody, not his family, not the mosque. He was involved in robbery. His mother was estranged from him, and she worked for the government. A psychiatric report said he wasn’t mentally ill, but he was very troubled or disturbed. I’m not sure what kind of status they give to illegal drug addiction in terms of mental illness. I guess they want to move away from classifying drug dependency that way. It wouldn’t fit with the fact that so many people are living their lives dependent on prescription psychotropic drugs.
