U.S. law grants biologics exclusivity for 12 years. The TPP, however, allows no more than eight years.

I don’t agree with the article’s concerns–and I don’t think life should be patentable anyway. However, maybe this is a good thing that the U.S. Congress could decide to defeat the TPP because of this.
