Some of the lecture topics (under the Sessions tab) are very interesting to me because they relate to efforts to modify culture and society (Marxism, Frankfurt School, etc.).

In this lesson, in addition to Judith Butler’s ideas, Professor Fry talks about Michel Foucault’s ideas about sexuality. Don’t be surprised if you find the lecture confusing.

For example, at 7m 9s to 7m 40s, he is explaining a statement by Foucault:

What he’s saying is, among other things, that a deployment of sexuality, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing–these deployments aren’t meant somehow or another to be terroristic regimes–a deployment of sexuality which, for example, favored forms of sexuality such as birth control or homosexuality would certainly be a means of controlling reproduction.
