Petitions challenging COVID policies presented in Ontario legislature – Part 8
Continued from Part 7.
Note: our petition was read on March 7.
Although I think the public school system generally speaking has always been used for social engineering, and is clearly now being used to destroy basic values even to the point of disassociating children from reality–with the ultimate aim of achieving the degradation of Brave New World (read the novel), I am posting this petition because of its very valid points regarding the destructive effect of COVID-19 policies. Note that the petition is making certain claims that I believe can be verified.
EDUCATION
Mr. Roman Baber: Petition to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
“Whereas remote learning adversely affects the health and mental health of Ontario’s children;
“Whereas many Ontario children exhibit increased signs of anxiety and depression;
“Whereas learning at home increases the risk of eating disorders;
“Whereas in-class education is essential for the proper development of social and interpersonal skills;
“Whereas the academic skills of Ontario’s children are regressing;
“Whereas the risk of transmission of COVID-19 amongst children is significantly lower than that of adults;
“Whereas the risk of illness or adverse effects of COVID-19 are significantly lower to children than adults;
“Whereas single-parent families are particularly inconvenienced and cannot maintain full-time work;
“Whereas suicide rates among children are on the rise;
“Whereas women in particular are forced to leave the workforce to care for children at home;
“Whereas parents are struggling to balance home, work and family responsibilities;
“Whereas schools have not shown to be sources of spread;
“Whereas Ontario’s children are suffering and need to be back in school;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:
“To call on the government of Ontario to return all of Ontario’s students back to school immediately.”
I’m pleased to support this petition and join the 12,225 Ontarians who have signed it already.
Unfortunately, I also noticed a petition in the spring of 2021 calling for Charter-violating restrictions on travel.
I don’t agree with some of the assertions in the following petition, but I agree with the main point about the extreme police powers. At the time, many police services in Ontario refused to use these unconstitutional measures.
POLICE SERVICES
Ms. Mitzie Hunter: I have a petition to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
“Roll Back Emergency Police Powers
“To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
“Whereas in Ontario the COVID-19 infection rate is out of control, ICU beds are full, patients are being transferred around the province and field tent health facilities are being set up;
“Whereas the Ford government’s response to the pandemic in Ontario has been to authorize police to stop, question and potentially fine residents;
“Whereas it has been established that the use of police powers has a disproportionately negative impact on” Black, Indigenous, people of colour “communities in Ontario;
“Whereas these BIPOC community members make up a large portion of essential workers who need to leave their homes to work in our hospitals, LTC homes, grocery stores and other essential service workplaces;
“We, the undersigned, demand the emergency police powers to be rescinded.”
I will sign this petition and submit it to the table.
PLACES OF RELIGIOUS WORSHIP
Mrs. Belinda C. Karahalios: “To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
“Whereas worship is critical to the lives of many Ontarians, and the gathering for worship is an essential aspect of religious faith; and
“Whereas the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms recognizes freedom of religion as fundamental, and the Supreme Court of Canada has interpreted this as including the freedom ‘to manifest religious belief by worship and practice;’ and
“Whereas both the federal and the Ontario provincial legislatures have recognized religion as a human right; and
“Whereas the social, emotional and spiritual elements of worship are significant; and
“Whereas places of worship provide many valuable social services through their members to the communities they are in, and the good work of places of worship in their communities is hindered by the inability to physically gather; and
“Whereas places of worship have been diligent in observing health and safety protocols and have not been a significant source of spread of COVID-19; and
“Whereas the safety and the well-being of religious communities are best preserved through the co-operation of religious leaders and the Ontario government;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:
“That the Legislature recognize the importance and value of worship, and to include places of worship as an essential service under the reopening Ontario act, allowing religious communities to gather for worship.”
I support this petition and affix my name to it.
Fundamental laws are being broken. Totalitarian powers have been exercised. It’s just incredible what has been done to Canadians and to the rest of the world–and these people are going to keep doing these things using whatever stories and excuses they can, even though there has been some relief in Ontario as of March, 2022.
Over the decades, there has been a lot of propaganda and conditioning (and infiltration and lame celebrity atheism) used to attack religion so that many people no longer value it. Religion has gradually been neglected and replaced by activities that tend to isolate and atomize people.
These unprecedented measures are the ultimate step taken by power-hungry people to completely undermine us, and to take away our power to gather and to communicate with each other.
Myself, I got caught up in all the changes that have happened. I don’t make blanket endorsements of religions. I felt the need to simplify my beliefs and take what is good from religion. I think there is a personal, individual aspect to beliefs which is very important, but that there is also a community side–as expressed in the Charter of Rights just to use an example–that is the basis of sound laws.
I think we need to rebuild societies that uphold shared, common beliefs and values–regardless of differences in details–societies that refuse to cooperate with transhumanism, with efforts to degrade human life and turn us into commodities to be dissected, modified and trafficked.
We need to hear more opposition. People need to start talking to others again about what is important. Some didn’t listen, but others may listen, especially now. Mainstream media tells them not to listen. Let’s try again! Do you really want people to be treated like pin cushions and sheep? Do you really want every transaction and communication to be monitored? If not, then start talking.
