“Planners want to herd millions into densely packed urban corridors…
“California has declared war on the most popular housing choice, the single family, detached home—all in the name of saving the planet…
“The campaign against suburbia is the result of laws passed in 2006 (the Global Warming Solutions Act) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and in 2008 (the Sustainable Communities and Climate Protection Act) on urban planning…”
Very densely packed housing instead.
To discourage automobile use and encourage mass transit.
To re-engineer and herd us about like we are their cattle.
This is what planners and totalitarians do, they interfere with property rights and individual choice.
We should not accept any of the premises. The author doesn’t get the full picture. If you can’t afford the housing, what makes you think you will be able to afford to drive a car at all, even if you’re allowed to? What makes you think it’s just California?
We live under the same type of long-term planning regime in Ontario called Smart Growth, because it’s all from the same United Nations Agenda 21.
