World’s “first” genetically modified human babies
World’s first GM babies born

“The world’s first genetically modified humans have been created, it was revealed last night.
“The disclosure that 30 healthy babies were born after a series of experiments in the United States provoked another furious debate about ethics…
“Fifteen of the children were born in the past three years as a result of one experimental programme at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science of St Barnabas in New Jersey…
“Altering the human germline – in effect tinkering with the very make-up of our species …
“Writing in the journal Human Reproduction, the researchers, led by fertility pioneer Professor Jacques Cohen, say that this ‘is the first case of human germline genetic modification resulting in normal healthy children’…
“Last year, Professor Cohen said that his expertise would allow him to clone children…”
The director for the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children says that these techniques lead to “babies being regarded as objects on a production line” or commodities in other words.
Under the P.R. of treating infertility and preventing diseases, the cheapening of human life and destruction of morality allows this eugenics “progress” through God knows how many experimental failures and destroyed embryos along the way.
As with the Olympics, we’re looking for “Faster, Higher, Stronger” or “Leaner, Sharper, Meaner” or “Dumb, Docile, Obedient”.
It seems the goal of this dangerous interference in nature is the utopia of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World or Plato’s Republic, with nature “perfected” and humans genetically designed to fulfill their role as managers or slaves in a scientific dictatorship.
