A widely misunderstood research paper says the sun’s behaviour and the Earth’s position in the galaxy, not CO2 build-up, are at the root of global warming

So, let people do what they need to do. Co2 is a necessary part of basic human life – to heat and travel- and therefore a justifiable part of nature. And technology is a necessary part of human life too. People will not be controlled about this. We will decide ourselves what technology is good and what is bad, what we need and what we don’t. And if new businesses were freed up from taxes and regulations to create alternative energy sources, so much the better. If this paper is true, human actions won’t make much difference to global warming anyway – in the same way that anti-human government controls won’t help anything – so let’s get on with our lives and our business.

Serious pollution to the oceans and ground water is another matter and there should be restraints on big government and big business pollution through protection of individual property rights and free-market actions taken by adversely-affected businesses and individuals. It’s ironic how we look to governments to protect the environment when they use our taxes to dump their dangerous military waste wherever they like – radioactive waste, land mines and depleted uranium.
