Welcome to Hugs Over Masks
Hugs Over Masks is a community of independent, non-partisan and concerned individuals, families, businesses, and professionals that formed from the need, during these unprecedented times, to work together in pursuit of restoring our liberties, democracy, and way of life. Our governments have mandated measures that are not supported by the latest scientific data on COVID-19. We are dedicated to removing the lockdown measures that are unnecessarily harming Ontarians health and rights. We must reopen Ontario so everyone can return to normal, have a voice in their Legislature, and resume earning their livelihoods, for themselves and their families.
There is a flyer for face mask exemptions that you can download and print.
There is also information here about the Toronto masks by-law and also a letter by MPP Randy Hillier (member of the provincial legislature) who explains the exemptions regarding health and how people can protect their Charter Rights
My Comments:
This is very encouraging so I’m going to sign up and take a chance with it. I notice that there seem to be a lot of people signing up.
Hopefully this group provides some of the kind of networking and communication that we need so that we’re not left isolated on our own when we take a stand against one policy or another. Everybody who decides to take a stand against masks, contact tracing, immunity passports, mandatory vaccinations, isolation/distancing measures–will need some kind of support and encouragement of whatever kind is available. I feel that society has been atomized but maybe we are more resilient than that. Of course everyone is more isolated than ever before because of the restrictions–and also due to media control and censorship.
Whatever you are involved in, please share whatever information you have about legal actions or events. That way I can try to publish it. Please inform me and others of your group, your news feeds and events. I think that there must be millions of people out of the loop. Possibly this resistance movement could grow to enormous numbers if people would actively inform others. I think the interest must go beyond an traditional alternative media audience. It’s not business as usual for people who were aware of things in the past. We need to get everybody possible in the loop with others so that we can be stronger in numbers and oppose what is happening together–with support from each other.
And I notice that many people are already putting aside partisan differences to focus on what really matters to them personally and to others. That’s how I think we can find common ground across party lines and even across different belief systems.
On the other hand, joining and following is not the ultimate answer when it comes to things like this. You have to think for yourself. Go with things that make sense to you. Watch out for false leaders. Make your own choices. If people just go along and take the talking heads for granted, we’ll be in a police state. If we emerge out of this some day, we should look to something real–the type of society where everyone is involved–that’s called direct democracy–people are familiar with the idea of referenda.
In the meantime, in the real world, now is the time for everybody to be involved. It feels like we’re standing in front of a bulldozer, and we want real sincere people standing next to us who believe in what they’re doing. So we should keep our eyes open and not just wait for others to tell us to stand up–or stand down for that matter when we should be standing up. This is my instinct on this subject as someone who has been involved in political organizing. Infiltration in order to neutralize people is just reality and there’s no way to avoid it. So my approach is to work together with others, do my own things also, make as many friends as possible, and keep my eyes open.
