Petitions challenging (or related to) COVID policies presented in the Ontario legislature – Part 9
Continuing from Part 8, using this page and this page:
Our petition was presented on March 7.
Most Ontario government mask mandates have been lifted (March 21, 2022) and many workplaces have also stopped requiring masks to be worn. I know this hasn’t ended in some places yet.
The lies need to be exposed. Many still need to hear the truth about the damage that has been done.
We also can’t just go along with the carbon tax increases that are scheduled by the federal government. This needs to be opposed.
Exposing the corruption and victimization of what has happened over the last two years–and what is yet to come–is still critically important, more important to us than any overseas events we are told to focus on in order to distract us from realities at home in Canada, realities which are really matters of life and death for us.
It is tragic that people have been programmed to put up with abuse and to avoid accepting the reality of being lied to about so many things for so long. Being manipulated into investing emotionally in foreign conflicts accentuates the delusions and denial. This happened before to lesser degrees, for example, with the NATO attack on Libya. Information was completely distorted and one-sided. In a bigger way, it happened with the 9/11 event and the wars and dictatorial policies that came from that.
There is a lot to tell about all of these events. There are many good (not perfect) sources of information out there, for example, podcasts such as William Ramsey Investigates which provides an introduction to many topics (he has authors on with many points of view, including religious points of view, and has discussed 9/11, Libya, JFK, Epstein, etc.) and RFK Jr The Defender who exposes the facts about COVID-19 extensively and other topics related to health and toxicity.
A petition (presented more than once) that was relevant to COVID policies because of the statistics it presents for 2020 (and it’s also relevant to a wider malevolent agenda)
ADDICTION SERVICES
Mr. Jamie West: I want to thank Denise Sandul who collected these petitions for her son, Myles Keaney, who died from an opioid overdose.
“Whereas Ontario is expecting more than 2,200 opioid-related deaths in 2020;
“Whereas opioid-related deaths are up 25% in northern Ontario compared to 2019;
“Whereas death rates in northern Ontario are almost double what they are in southern Ontario;
“Whereas northern Ontario has fewer health resources to handle the opioid crisis than southern Ontario;
“We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly to declare the opioid crisis a public health emergency in northern Ontario and commit to funding local evidence-based initiatives such as harm reduction strategies, awareness programs, anti-stigma training, residential treatment, and overdose prevention services, including a supervised consumption site in Greater Sudbury.”
I agree with this petition, I’ll affix my signature and give it to the Clerk.
Another petition with information relevant to the agenda behind COVID and the Great Reset, specifically much greater dependence on the Internet:
INTERNET ACCESS
Ms. Jill Andrew: I rise on behalf of BIST, Brain Injury Society of Toronto, in my riding. This petition is called, “Petition for Internet Access for ODSP and OW Recipients.
“Petition to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
“Whereas the CRTC states it is important for all Canadians to be able to connect to quality Internet services at affordable prices;
“Whereas Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program recipients live significantly below the poverty line, a gap that continues to grow;
“Whereas our dependence on the Internet has increased dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic;
“Whereas free public WiFi access—from libraries to coffee shops—has been severely reduced or completely eliminated due to the pandemic, and even when they are operating in full capacity, these places are not appropriate for confidential or private meetings;
“Whereas lower-cost Internet options may exist in some urban areas, in northern Ontario, Internet prices skyrocket to $100 a month or more;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to immediately amend the Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program directive to include financial support for the cost of ongoing Internet access.”
I couldn’t agree more with this petition. Thank you to BIST for providing this to me. I’m going to affix my signature and table it with the Clerks.
I mentioned the other petitions about Broadband Infrastructure earlier that highlight the same agenda of dependency on the Internet.
Another petition (March 25, 2021) with relevant issues relating to the consequences of COVID-19 policies, because it mentions the increased dependency on government. The intention I believe of COVID/Great Reset policies was and is to train more people to be dependent on government and ultimately to be put on a form of Universal Basic Income – which is really for CONTROL.
SOCIAL ASSISTANCE
Ms. Jill Andrew: This petition is to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It is titled, “Raise ODSP/OW shelter and basic needs allowances now.”
I would like to thank all of the great activists in Toronto–St. Paul’s from the #ODSPoverty activists group, Liza Butcher and Shady Rofaael, for providing all of these petitions from across the province and, of course, in St. Paul’s.
“Raise ODSP/OW shelter and basic needs allowances now….
“Whereas the COVID-19 crisis means that more people than ever are relying on support from the government to help pay rent and keep food on the table;
“Whereas most people in Ontario who receive social assistance aren’t eligible for the new, $2,000-a-month Canada Emergency Response Benefit—they’re expected to get by on as little as $650 a month; and
“Whereas affordable, subsidized, rent-geared-to-income housing is unavailable at this time and may be unavailable for the next 10 to 20 years due to a huge waiting list and zero vacancies; and
“Whereas clients need to eat, as well as pay rent, and since clients would still have to dip into their basic needs allowances to cover rent because even doubling the shelter allowance still won’t cover all of the rent at today’s prices, needed meds and other things not covered by the MSN forms have to be paid for out of basic needs, and some of these items are very expensive,” like “medical cannabis;
“Whereas Bill 47 erased many of the legislative gains achieved through Bill 148, the fair labour laws and working conditions that had a particularly positive impact on women and other marginalized people;
“Whereas statistics show that women, particularly women of colour, are most likely to be employed in precarious work, and the Bill 47 amendments to the Employment Standards Act, 2000, and Labour Relations Act, 1995, create conditions that lead to a growth in precarious employment while also eliminating protections for millions of Ontario workers;
“Whereas Bill 66 further erodes women and marginalized people’s social and economic rights;
“Whereas” this Conservative government “continues to remove, cancel or freeze funding for other support programs and regulations that would increase women’s equality in the workforce and beyond;
“We, the undersigned, call on the Premier of Ontario to double Ontario disability support … or Ontario Works rates to bring them in line with the CERB, because if laid-off workers need $2,000 a month to get by, so do people who receive ODSP and OW.”
Thank you very much, St. Paul’s. Thank you so much, #ODSPoverty, for putting this forth. I completely agree, affix my signature, and I will table it with the Clerks.
Another petition relating to the consequences of COVID-19 policies (blamed on a virus)
LIFE INSURANCE
Ms. Donna Skelly: This petition is regarding Bill 219, Life Settlements and Loans Act, 2020.
“To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
“Whereas at a time when many people, especially seniors, are struggling due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, more needs to be done to meet the needs of vulnerable people;
“Whereas important updates in order to modernize the Insurance Act are required;
“Whereas changes are needed to allow Ontario seniors to access the fair market value of their life insurance policies which could potentially give seniors tens of millions of dollars more than they now receive, each year;
“Whereas, if passed, Bill 219 would:
“—modernize the Insurance Act to create a well-regulated secondary market in life insurance;
“—provide access to an alternative financial resource and allow Ontario seniors to access the fair market value of their life insurance policies;
“—ensure consumers are protected by requiring full, true and plain disclosure;
“—require a 10-day cooling-off period;
“—ensure the right to consult a financial or legal adviser;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to support the Life Settlements and Loans Act.”
I support this petition and will affix my signature.
Another petition which I guess is not directly related to COVID-19 policies (?) is this one. I think it’s relevant because it shows that something is wrong with our society and not just at the lower levels. Some evil influences have been degrading and tearing away at our society for a long time. The petition doesn’t say things are getting better. Why? Why was there all the focus on COVID-19 instead of on human trafficking or other serious problems?
HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Mr. Dave Smith: I have a petition entitled “Combatting Human Trafficking.”
“Whereas human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes worldwide and the majority of police-reported incidents of human trafficking in Canada happen right here in Ontario; and
“Whereas it is important that Ontario is equipped to fight this growing crime and support victims and survivors with every tool at our disposal; and
“Whereas everyone deserves freedom from exploitation, fear and violence;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:
“Pass Bill 251, Combating Human Trafficking Act, 2021, so that:
“(1) There is increased awareness of the issue, supporting a long-term provincial response and emphasizing that all Ontarians have a role to play in combatting human trafficking;
“(2) We strengthen the ability of children’s aid societies and law enforcement to protect exploited children;
“(3) More survivors and the people who support them in obtaining restraining orders against traffickers are supported, with specific consideration for Indigenous survivors;
“(4) The government’s ability to collect non-personal data to better understand the impact of the strategy and respond to human trafficking is increased;
“(5) Law enforcement is provided with more tools to locate victims and charge traffickers.”
I fully agree with this petition, will sign my name to it and send it to the table.
But the corporate media and government sources of intentional moral degradation and family breakdown continue–while churches and other community activities were shut down.
There were reports of increased child abuse and domestic violence after people were stuck at home during COVID lockdowns–being fed with toxic culture through the same media telling them to live in fear of a virus:
- Alarming trends in US domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Has child abuse surged under COVID-19? Despite alarming stories from ERs, there’s no answer

There were petitions like the following relating to how small businesses suffered due to COVID-19 (actually due to the policies).
SMALL BUSINESS
Ms. Donna Skelly: This petition concerns the Ontario Small Business Support Grant program:
“Whereas small businesses required to close or significantly restrict services under the province-wide shutdown have suffered significant losses in revenue;
“Whereas small businesses need urgent relief to help navigate through the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic;
“Whereas … the small business support grant program would:
“—give struggling small businesses a minimum grant of $10,000;
“—offer eligible businesses a grant up to $20,000;
“—help businesses pay their bills and meet their financial obligations;
“—help businesses continue to employ people and support their local communities when it is safe to do so;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, support the Ontario government’s initiative to help struggling small businesses through the Ontario Small Business Support Grant program.”
I support this particular petition, and I will affix my signature and give it to a page.
The following petition mentions how e-commerce and online shopping increased dramatically, which was an obvious intention of the COVID-19 / Great Reset agenda.
In the same way, education was moved online in a very deliberate manner, which I think can have its good side in terms of homeschooling and self-learning. Marshall McLuhan advocated something like this. However, I don’t think the intention of recent policies is better educational results or more independent thinking.
CONSUMER PROTECTION
Ms. Donna Skelly: This petition concerns the Trespass to Property Amendment Act, 2020:
“To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
“Whereas since the start of the pandemic, the growth of e-commerce has exploded and online shopping has doubled in Canada;
“Whereas with the dramatic increase in doorstep deliveries, thieves have more opportunities than ever before to steal packages addressed to consumers;
“Whereas one in three online shoppers in Canada say they’ve had a package stolen from outside their home;
“Whereas, if passed, the Trespass to Property Amendment Act would:
“—make Ontario the first province in Canada to impose provincial fines for package piracy;
“—impose a minimum fine of $500 for a first offence, $1,000 for a second offence, $2,000 for each subsequent conviction, up to a maximum of $10,000;
“—create a deterrent for package pirates while offering more protection to consumers, retailers and couriers from this costly crime;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to support the Trespass to Property Amendment Act, 2020.
I mentioned the petitions relating to COVID-19 evictions in Part 2. These continued in March 2021. The following was March 2:
TENANT PROTECTION
Ms. Rima Berns-McGown: I have a stack of petitions from ridings across Ontario that are entitled, “No COVID-19 Evictions.
“To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
“Whereas renters across Ontario are currently having a hard time paying rent and other bills, especially if they have lost their income during the COVID-19 pandemic;
“Whereas there will be a rise in evictions across Ontario once the pandemic is declared over and the moratorium on the enforcement of evictions is lifted. Rent across Ontario is already too high and many families are barely managing to live month to month, with homelessness already a crisis;
“Whereas tenants are finding it increasingly difficult to find reasonable places to live once evicted, in part due to rent raises not being regulated between tenancies;
“Whereas the rights of tenants are already limited, and the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board is in dire need of resources;
“Therefore we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:
“—Immediately halt Bill 184;
“—Subsidize 80% of rent up to $2,500 for four months for tenants who have lost income due to the pandemic;
“—Restrict rent increases on both current units as well as new units post-2018;
“—Ensure that the Landlord and Tenant Board’s rules prioritize a tenant’s ability to preserve their home through the dispute resolution process;
“—Ban all COVID-19-related evictions.”
I will happily sign this petition and make sure it gets to the table.
