TPP Part 7 – Could ratification be defeated in Ottawa? Following up on TPP and country of origin labeling
By Alan Mercer
My analysis of the TPP on the subject of country of origin is:
Just a Question: Will Canadians know where their food comes from under the TPP? https://canadianliberty.com/?p=23028
Some of you may already be aware of how this concern has been indirectly confirmed in other events and reports about the defeat of the U.S. government’s legislation concerning country of origin labeling.
I first heard about this concern in an interview between Doyel Shamley and host Patrick Henningsen on an alternative radio program called Sunday Wire (25 October, 2015). This was before the full text of the secretive TPP was released, but there had been some leaks earlier.

The important point is what we–that means you–what YOU should do with this information, especially if you’re Canadian–but it applies to other countries also–I mean, rather than just assume the U.S. Congress is going to overturn it.
If you’re Canadian, what about the vote expected in the Canadian parliament? What about the other trade agreements that have already led to this situation? The TPP and future trade agreements are just going to make things worse.
In my opinion, if enough members of the Canadian public, media and politicians knew about the country of origin issue, it would cause the defeat of the TPP’s ratification and the start of an examination of all “free trade” agreements.
So why not make everyone possible in your network aware of this reality.
I don’t think you can underestimate the potential reaction against the TPP, at least with those Canadians who understand what you’re telling them. This point could create quite a stir and could cause the defeat of the TPP in Canada if that happened. Let’s think big for a minute.
So in these posts, I am going to present the indirect(?) confirmation about this important point. And, sure, it’s just one of many points that could be made about the TPP. And all of those points are great, but why not simplify the message momentarily and let it loose?

I will present many of the details in subsequent posts, but hopefully you get the point right away. Remember that the mainstream media has spun things so that this action taken against the U.S. government is somehow in the interests of Canadians. And the media is not going to want to spell out the connection with the TPP. Everything is propped up on simplistic emotional, knee-jerk propaganda that Canadians are going to benefit from the TPP and other trade agreements. That’s how our picture of “reality” is built.
I don’t see any legislation listed yet about the TPP on the parliamentary website: http://www.parl.gc.ca/LegisInfo/LAAG.aspx?Language=E&Mode=1&Parl=42&Ses=1.
