BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOUR BLACKBERRY – How Wired Gadgets Encroach on Privacy by Christian Stöcker, spiegel.de, July 27/2009
“…In the age of networked digital devices, it seems that values such as the sanctity of the private sphere, the protection of our private property and the inviolability of our correspondence no longer count for very much.”
“tethered appliances”. Book mentioned: The Future of the Internet — And How to Stop It
“…Anyone who believes that large companies would not bend to the will of autocrats and dictators just needs to take a look at the situation in China, where search engines and Internet providers do exactly what the Chinese government tells them to do…”
For example, car microphones can be switched on remotely when the government orders. Functions can be deleted remotely that the user has already paid for.
EUTHANASIA “DEBATE” – THE PUSH FOR STATE CONTROL OVER LIFE AND DEATH
RCN (Royal College of Nursing) neutral on assisted suicide, news.bbc.co.uk, July 25/2009
Spokesperson for Christian Nurses and Midwives:
“At a time when there is growing anxiety about how we will care for the elderly and severely disabled in the future, this policy shift sends the wrong signals to the vulnerable.”
If you think about it, governments have no intention of relaxing the law for special exceptions outside of their control. They create this situation, and this manipulative “debate” that is only headed in one direction. This is so that the law is changed eventually so that nurses, doctors and the government controlled health care system can decide when we die. The State wants its employees to make that decision, so the only “rights” will eventually go to the State. Isn’t that where the “debate” is going to lead? The politicians will “fix” their health care system in the future – cut costs – by “empowering” health care workers to cut off the elderly and disabled and terminate people who are in pain instead of treating their pain.
How does that give us more rights? The protection will be gone, but we will not have more power over our lives. We will have the “right to die” when they give us permission. When we are feeling a lot of pain and depression and feeling a burden to others, the State-authorized “doctors” and “nurses” will be standing by to terminate us, obeying their quotas and tightly controlled budgets.
When the State has complete control over the economy, over our taxes, over our health care, we should be careful what “rights” we ask them for. They are the same people who steal from us, who even take property taxes from the elderly. It’s better if we preserve the idea of the sanctity of life and expect real treatment and care from medical professionals.
GOVERNMENTS AND SWINE FLU
Government virus expert paid £ 116k by swine flu vaccine manufacturers by David Derbyshire, dailymail.co.uk, July 27/2009
“…Professor Sir Roy Anderson sits on the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), a 20-strong task force drawing up the action plan for the virus.
“Yet he also holds a £116,000-a-year post on the board of GlaxoSmithKline, the company selling swine flu vaccines and anti-virals to the NHS…
“…During the 2001 foot and mouth outbreak, Sir Roy’s advice to Tony Blair led to the culling of more than 6 million animals…”
