Canceling Canadian Automobile Association Membership
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for the membership services I’ve enjoyed with CAA all these years.
But please cancel my account…
I believe in “freedom” – you know, whatever that is. And I would like to take this opportunity of canceling my membership to emphasize this point – that I really very strongly object to our society being turned more and more – gradually over the years – into a totalitarian system.
Since you know that the CAA is involved in advising the government on various laws – and I understand this better now what the purpose of the CAA is – you should realize there are consequences to the passing of those laws that will affect our “freedoms”.

“CAA participated in the minister’s roundtable, which formed the basis of the recently passed legislation on street racing. CAA also worked with an MPP on the introduction of legislation aiming to prohibit new drivers from using cell phones and other portable electronic devices while operating motor vehicles.”
Sure, there are debatable points [if there was a debate] concerning the distraction law and the street racing legislation, but personally as a member and as a citizen I’m really not asked to be involved in those debates, whether points are morally defensible or not. I forced myself into debates by becoming a candidate for the Libertarian Party on several occasions and that’s about as active as we can get before realizing that nobody in power is listening to ordinary people at all – only to NGO’s, lobby groups and associations.
Then there are the even bigger issues, those points of common international “consensus” – a political agenda that takes advantage of peoples’ concern about their environment.
This objectionable point of propaganda – not scientific fact – is mentioned on the Canadian Automobile Association website:
http://www.caasco.com/community/autogreen/eco-vehicle-choices.jsp
“…Burning fossil fuels produces carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions (known as greenhouse gases or GHG) which trap heat in our atmosphere thereby increasing the earth’s temperature and contributing to climate change….”
There is a documentary called “The Great Global Warming Swindle” where scientists shoot holes in the climate change message.
In the 70’s, the media was promoting the idea that there would be a new ice age because the earth had been cooling since the 40’s despite the growth in industrialization. That’s a fact. Do you realize that? Then in the 90’s, they promoted “global warming”.
Also, water vapour is a much more of a greenhouse gas. Humans are not the major source of carbon dioxide anyway compared to the oceans and other natural sources. Carbon dioxide is the same as what we breath out. It is a harmless clean non-polluting gas that is ESSENTIAL FOR LIFE, because plants require it for life. It is also essential for our lives that we be able to burn fuels that produce carbon dioxide, because all functional practical fuels for heating homes and powering vehicles produce carbon dioxide. It is not smog. It is not a pollutant. There are many in the public who don’t understand the distinction because of the propaganda.
The fact is that the idea that “humans cause climate change” was created by the people who run the U.N. in order to justify greater taxation and control of our lives on a global scale.
According to http://peopleforwesternheritage.com/PFWHRMAdditionalQuotes.htmthe real environmentalist agenda is spelled out in many quotes like this:
“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.”
– Club of Rome, The First Global Revolution
(Page 115 according to another source).
The “logic” of “carbon dioxide causes climate change” is all set up for us in advance by a set agenda, and the consequences will be horrific in terms of the effects on our personal lives in terms of our wallets, our privacy and our freedoms, in terms of fines and taxes, and in terms of government monitoring of our energy use, our homes, our cars and our lives in general, including ultimately the number of children in each family.
I do not buy into the “climate change” control propaganda. So I will opt out of organizations that promote it whenever I can.
Yours Sincerely,
Alan Mercer
