Real Questions for Candidates – Climate Change-Global Warming
By Alan Mercer
Try asking questions like this during the lead up to the Canadian federal election on May 2, 2011. You can copy and adapt this one if you like.
In an Environment Canada press release (Dec. 11, 2010), about the Cancun climate accord, to address so-called “global warming” or “climate change”, the Canadian “conservative” government said:
“Canada has followed through on its commitment to the Accord by committing our fair share of fast-start funding and by inscribing an ambitious and realistic emissions reduction target of 17 per cent below 2005 levels by 2020.”
However, the cost of living, or the Consumer Price Index is shooting up according to a StatsCan report (April 19, 2011). As we all realize,
“gasoline prices increased 18.9% in March, following a 15.7% gain in the 12 months to February. Prices for fuel oil and other fuels increased 31.3%, while electricity prices rose 4.3%.”
So what do you think you’re doing? Why are you signing the Cancun and Copenhagen Accords and going along with the climate change belief system?
I don’t believe in your man-made climate change religion. This is an anti-human belief system that demonizes human activity and carbon dioxide. The government said it wants to reduce emissions. How much suffering will we have to endure for that?
Carbon dioxide is a clean non-toxic gas, necessary for plant life, and is produced by all life-sustaining human activities. We need to heat our homes. We need to fuel our vehicles. We need to run our businesses. We need to make stuff. We need to live. We need to have a future.
“The First Global Revolution” by the Club of Rome think-tank includes a point about how “global warming” would be one of the “threats” – humanity as the enemy of itself supposedly – used to justify a centrally planned world government. The man-made climate change message is just a political agenda. The globalists bully the scientists who don’t agree with the agenda. And they spend massive amounts of money on propaganda. But most of us are so trusting, we can’t believe that something like this can be going on.
Why aren’t you as politicians going to reduce gas taxes to give people some kind of break? Maybe most of you have no idea what you’re doing and who you are following and where it’s all going.
What makes you think we can afford to have more and more of our money REDISTRIBUTED to foreign countries, a la Karl Marx, to pay for cozy jobs for United Nations bureacrats and NGOs who order around governments and political parties? You people listen to NGOs. That’s the Agenda 21 system. You don’t listen to individual citizens. You do what the corporatist-funded and tax-funded monopolist foundations and NGOs tell you at G8 and G20 meetings. And “conservatives” pretend to resist them a little.
What makes you think we can afford to have more and more controls over business and our personal lives, making products more expensive, just to cut down on harmless carbon dioxide? And where are the factories and the industry and the jobs we used to have? Wouldn’t it be great to go back to deal with problems of real pollution instead of this hocus-pocus garbage about carbon dioxide and methane and other harmless gases supposedly affecting the climate significantly. It’s nonsense. Radiation, on the other hand, spewing from the Japanese nuclear disaster, that’s real pollution. And we won’t be able to deal with real pollution like THAT personally if we’re taxed into the ground, will we?
More and more people like me DO NOT BELIEVE in this fraudulent political agenda, where the wealthier fascist monopolist control-freak elements in society will be feeding off of the rest of us – through taxes and corporate subsidies – and pretending to save the climate, and pretending to help third world countries while actually shutting down their industry and keeping them poor.
They will be living off our carbon taxes or living off profits from the carbon trading schemes with their disposable income. But people in the middle and lower classes won’t have any disposable income! And we won’t have anything left to live normal lives and do what we want. Every day will be spent scraping by, living under personal debt burdens, working multiple jobs, seeing our relatives having to move and live in smaller homes, with lives that are more and more restricted and limited, always blaming ourselves for all of it. And sure enough, journalists like Diane Francis and environmentalist fanatics constantly call for controls on the number of children and for reducing the population.
How poor do you people want us to be? Where do you think this is all leading? What kind of future is the one you have planned for us? What do you think a “low-carbon” future means? I understand the whole thing to be a destructive power-grabbing lie. And I don’t want to pay for any of these lies. As Canadians, it should be up to all of us to make up our own minds and have our say. We need a free society and not a controlled authoritarian society. We shouldn’t let ourselves be pushed around anymore.
The “Conservatives” in Britain want to introduce U.K. carbon taxes on top of the European energy trading scheme (ETS) they’ve already adopted, so we should take nothing for granted about any political party. There is something wrong with political parties and candidates who want to raise energy taxes while fuel costs are soaring, who want to shut down coal plants, and replace them with windmills, etc. There is something wrong with people like that! They are following some other interests other than those of ordinary people! They have no empathy at all. Because of the high energy prices in the U.K., this winter, seniors were struggling to stay warm (http://www.dartfordtimes.co.uk/news/rural_dartford_pensioners_left_in_the_cold_by_government_cuts_1_845434) and even riding buses to avoid using their home-heating. So much for “global warming”! So much for this public-private partnership system that pretends to give us choices and “free market” but which gives us nothing of the sort. Everything is legislated and controlled, always to “save” us or “help” us. But it always limits us and makes us poorer.
Nobody should vote for any member of any party who is just going along with this assault on our freedoms and rights and our ability to survive.
