www.dailymail.co.uk – April 16, 2012
The UK has already pledged £29.5bn to the Fund, £5.5bn of which has gone into the eurozone rescue scheme…
Ms Lagarde will now try to persuade the other major non-eurozone members: the UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, China and India to pledge funds….
LATEST TODAY:
Canada in the minority opposing more IMF firepower
www.theglobeandmail.com – April 21, 2012
I guess it’s wishful thinking, but I wonder whether the Conservative government tries to do the right thing in some areas.
You can see the hostile comments about Flaherty after the Globe and Mail article from the “liberals” (bankers).
Supposedly Canada is a sovereign country and can do what it wants, but the tone of the article is condescending:
“…within the Group of 20 economic powers, Mr. Flaherty has taken on the role of leader of the opposition.”
“Virtually the entire membership of the G20 shifted over the past few days to get behind International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde’s effort to raise more than $400-billion ( U.S.) to build a stronger bulwark against the threat posed by the European debt crisis…
“Canada’s obstinacy is harder to understand [as opposed to the U.S.], and is starting to take a toll on the Harper government’s reputation among those who frequent the halls of the IMF’s headquarters in Washington…”
“obstinacy” – “harder to understand”? – “reputation”?
Notice how the IMF is in Washington, with America containing key globalist centers of power.
It seems like Flaherty is concerned about Canadian taxpayers, so his “reputation” is suffering with globalists and bankers of course! They “don’t understand”.
The only right thing to do is for Canada to just get out of all of these disgusting international entanglements that threaten to swallow us up.
That’s the whole point of globalism – to swallow up the resources, independence, and sovereignty of every nation.
