Article mentions “National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace” and “Cyberspace Policy Review”.

So if this goes through, you will need government permission – government-issued ID – in order to make transactions on the Internet.  So for those who are economically dependent on the Internet for their survival, guess what! Just like people who need their car to survive economically, we all need a license from the government.  So everyone better behave or else!  These are the additional choke chains of our future, one chain added upon another, endlessly.
