Jose Delgado on his brain interface experiments with electrodes & electromagnetic fields
Psychocivilization and Its Discontents: An Interview with José Delgado
Magnus Bärtås, Fredrik Ekman and José Delgado, Cabinet Magazine | Issue 2 Mapping Conversations Spring 2001
The list of MK-Ultra experiments is like a group photo of the extended family of behavioral technologies: hypnosis, drugs, psychological testing, sleep research, brain research, electromagnetism, lie detection. The specific operations had very imaginative names: Sleeping Beauty, Project Pandora, Woodpecker, Artichoke, Operation Midnight Climax.
Note that the authors correct the point about the congressional testimony in a footnote and refer to Peter Breggin’s article “The Return of Lobotomy and Psychosurgery” (http://breggin.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=79), in which he had compiled Delgado’s statements on the totalitarian use of psychosurgery. “It was this article that was presented to Congress on 24 February 1972”.
