Many healthcare workers and others refused to take COVID shots (updated: January 1, 2024 3:20pm EST)
Story from December, 31, 2020, Los Angeles Times: “Some healthcare workers refuse to take COVID-19 vaccine, even with priority access”
https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-12-31/healthcare-workers-refuse-covid-19-vaccine-access
At St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Tehama County, fewer than half of the 700 hospital workers eligible for the vaccine were willing to take the shot when it was first offered. At Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, one in five frontline nurses and doctors have declined the shot. Roughly 20% to 40% of L.A. County’s frontline workers who were offered the vaccine did the same, according to county public health officials.
So many frontline workers in Riverside County have refused the vaccine — an estimated 50% — that hospital and public officials met to strategize how best to distribute the unused doses, Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari said.

… a startlingly high percentage of health care professionals and frontline workers throughout the country—who have been prioritized as early receipts of the coronavirus vaccine—are reportedly hesitant or outright refusing to take it, …
… Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said he was “troubled” by the relatively low numbers of nursing home workers who have elected to take the vaccine, with DeWine stating that approximately 60% of nursing home staff declined the shot.
Dr. Joseph Varon, chief of critical care at Houston’s United Memorial Medical Center, told NPR in December more than half of the nurses in his unit informed him they would not get the vaccine.
Roughly 55 percent of surveyed New York Fire Department firefighters said they would not get the coronavirus vaccine, the Firefighters Association president said last month.
Dr. Nikhila Juvvadi, the chief clinical officer at Chicago’s Loretto Hospital, said that a survey was administered in December, and 40% of the hospital staff said they would not get vaccinated.
A recent survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 29% of healthcare workers were hesitant to receive the vaccine, citing concerns related to potential side effects and a lack of faith in the government to ensure the vaccines were safe. …
… According to a Pew Research Center poll published in December, vaccine skepticism is highest among Black Americans, as less than 43% said they would definitely/probably get a Covid-19 vaccine. …

[Caution: despite having useful information to help us illustrate CONTRADICTIONS–such as the undeniable reality that MANY, MANY PEOPLE DID NOT WANT TO TAKE THIS SO-CALLED VACCINE, this mainstream news article and others are loaded with propaganda at a level that is historically unprecedented.]
… Some health-care workers in Ontario and British Columbia have been suspended without pay from their jobs due to not being vaccinated. …
…”We have shortages of health-care workers, and if you have a significant portion … who are going to lose their jobs because they’re choosing not to be vaccinated, there are serious implications in terms of hospitals and other facilities being short-staffed,” said Cara Zwibel of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. …
…It’s a point some provincial governments have considered. Quebec recently delayed its Oct. 15 vaccine deadline by 30 days to avoid potentially losing as many as 22,000 health-care workers….
…Bowman said by painting all non-vaccinated Canadians as being extremist and potentially dangerous, some public figures are failing to preserve autonomy.
“Case in point, I know a person is accepting vaccination because they have three young children and they need an income…. They don’t want it and their job is on the line,” he said.
… “Especially in health-care, it’s worth looking at why it is that some health-care workers are choosing not to be vaccinated, and either seeing if some of those reasons can be addressed or offering some alternatives,” Zwibel said. …

October 15, 2021, CBC: “Hundreds of Ottawa hospital workers on unpaid leave for being unvaccinated”
… While the city’s hospitals say the vast majority have complied, there are still more than 200 who have been placed on unpaid suspensions. …
Lots of threats of full termination. Yes, it seems the vast majority complied with the mandates, being forced to take multiple shots of the vaccine under threat of losing their jobs.
One hospital wrote about how some of those unwilling to “comply with our mandatory vaccine policy” had gotten their shots. They said, “We hope all of our staff on leave will make this choice.”
Notice the use of the word “CHOICE.”

CBC, October 12, 2021: “COVID-19 vaccine mandate now in place for B.C. workers in long-term care, assisted living”
… Karen Biggs, chief executive officer of Menno Place, a care home in Abbotsford, B.C., where 700 seniors live, says she is losing about nine employees out of 675 because they are not willing to vaccinate.
But Biggs said some staff have also chosen to retire early, while 19 casual employees who do not have permanent positions but work on a have-need basis have also refused a jab. …
… “Some employees have worked with us for 14 years, 20 years, and they’re choosing to walk away from their pension and their benefits by doing this,” she added. …
I think the “retire early” thing happened a lot [research] when all this corruption began. Many people have probably just given up. It’s understandable, but this is how our society has been engineered, for everyone to be as socially isolated as possible and lacking in common ground and values with others. Bertrand Russell wrote about this. We need to work on an alternative future that supports what is real and human and livable. The future we’re being dragged into will not be livable. Much of the information coming at us from various sides and angles is meant to demoralize. This is a psychological war more than anything. Ethical systems about basic values have been turned upside down. This has been going on a while, and in the last few years we were hit hard with an information war at a level never seen before.
CBC, October 9, 2021: “Southern Manitoba doctors encounter threatening, unsettling behaviour as mandatory vaccine deadlines loom”
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/southern-manitoba-doctors-threats-1.6204036
… Another Winkler physician, Dr. Don Klassen, said he and his colleagues have regularly encountered patients at Boundary Trails Health Centre refusing to be tested for COVID-19 or to disclose their vaccination status. …
…Boundary Trails serves people from a variety of communities, including Winkler and the rural municipality of Stanley, where vaccination rates are the lowest in the province at 41.8 and 24.7 per cent, respectively, as of Friday.
Those rates reflect pervasive attitudes doctors encounter on the job there, the doctor said.
“To try to help someone that thinks you’re the enemy and is accusing you of withholding the proper care, not knowing what you’re talking about … it’s been frustrating,” he said.
The article’s doctors associate distributing “conspiracy” literature with threatening behaviour and privacy invasion. Nobody is supposed to disagree with anyone in their world. It’s so ironic since the intimidation and privacy invasion involved with the COVID pandemic policies was off the charts.

CBC, September 27, 2021 – “Tensions mount at Manitoba immunization sites as vaccine mandates loom, workers say”
Pharmacist, supersite worker say many getting COVID-19 vaccine say they feel forced, aren’t happy to get shots
Photo caption:
… A La Broquerie pharmacist says most people coming in to get the shot now are frustrated, saying they feel forced and aren’t happy to be there.
…Dunlop runs a small pharmacy in La Broquerie, where she says most people coming in to get the shot now are frustrated, saying they feel forced and aren’t happy to be there. Some are reluctant to sign consent forms.
“Some have just sat there and cried because they really don’t want it … so I’ve had to just help support them through it and just try to talk to them, like, ‘It’s going to be OK,'” said Dunlop. …
A woman who has been working at the Steinbach vaccination supersite since it opened says the typically cheery attitude of most patients earlier has faded recently. It’s now common for patients to come in grudgingly, and they’re not subtle about it.
Many people–thinking of the ones administering these shots for example–really don’t have a basic understanding of what values they should have–even common ones that have been set in stone, in written Charters. They don’t know what they’re part of when they just follow orders. Societal institutions do not seem to have prepared us at all for what has been done to us. Many can’t recognize corruption when it’s staring them in the face. I think it will click eventually for most.
… Patients have made offhand comments about how they’re only getting vaccinated out of fear of losing their jobs, or so they can go visit a loved one in hospital or long-term care facility, she said….
Wow
This is important information documented by the mainstream media itself. It documents medical coercion–through intimidation of all kinds--which is a human rights violation, recognized domestically and internationally in law.
Wait until more people figure out how much damage the “vaccine” has done.
… A man assaulted a nurse in Sherbrooke, Que., last week because he claimed she didn’t get his consent before vaccinating his wife, according to local authorities. …
The level of belief in the “vaccine” by the workers is intense–in the face of all that opposition. It helps to understand where people are coming from.
I don’t think there is too much awareness of how the MRNA vaccines, for example, are officially supposed to operate, how novel (or strange) they are, how they invasively program your body’s cells. This is another point about the principle of “INFORMED consent” being violated.
People have been really beaten down by all this.

…In Quebec City, another union president, Nancy Hogan, said the university hospital network in the city is in a crisis.

Cédric Thivierge, a nurse in Thetford Mines, northeast of Montreal, is among those opposed to the mandatory vaccination policy.
Thivierge, who has been on the job since 2012, said he isn’t ready to get vaccinated.
“I’m going to be leaving colleagues, my team and my family in this difficult period,” he said. “I will have the feeling I’m abandoning them.”

At the briefing, Dubé also announced Quebec’s vaccine passport requirement will apply to people visiting hospitals.
The passport came into effect one week ago — on Sept. 1. It is required for most non-essential services, including for restaurant and bar dining rooms and terrasses.
Articles like this contain lots of propaganda from governments etc., unsubstantiated assertions about unvaccinated getting sicker for example, claims about huge numbers potentially catching the new variant at that time–likely there were a lot of people getting sick from the vaccine but that would be unmentioned.
He said though the hospitalizations may not be as high as early on in the pandemic, they are already straining the system because of a lack of personnel.
It’s amazing how there is this contradiction about the shortage of health care workers and somehow the solution involves firing non-compliant workers!? I think the shockingly abusive absurdity of it added to the intimidation factor as the government proved how serious they were.

… Others will get vaccinated, or already have, even though they don’t want to, in what amounts to a form of “coercion,” he said. …
… downloaded their government-issued quick-response (QR) code, which gives you proof of your vaccination status….
All three opposition parties at the province’s National Assembly called for a debate at the legislature, to hear from experts on the science and ethics of such a system.
Premier François Legault refused, saying he didn’t want to give a platform to conspiracy theorists.
The new rules are by decree, with the government still operating under a state of emergency …
There wasn’t any debate.
Staff at restaurants and other businesses have a difficult task ahead, Bowman added.
“Are they trained for it? Do they have support for it? And in some cases — and we have seen this in Quebec and throughout the country and the world — they are likely going to be dealing with some very, very angry people,” he said.
