UN & US involvement: 1990’s mass forced sterilization in Peru
From 2002: U.N. Complicit in Forced Sterilizations, (Wendy McElroy, ifeminists.com, December 23, 2002)
“There is compelling evidence that the United Nations collaborated in the forced sterilization of poor, rural women in Peru from 1995 to 1997. But mud from the scandal is clinging only to the United States.
“The controversy revolves around Peru’s National Program for Family Planning, which received funding from both the United Nations Population Fund and U.S. Agency for International Development. The Program included a campaign entitled Voluntary Surgical Contraception—that is, sterilization. An estimated 100,000 to 300,000 people, mostly women, were sterilized.”
The article refers to the example of Magna Morales who died as a result of her kidnapping and sterilization.
A June 2002 report entitled “Anticoncepcion Quirurgica Voluntaria” by the Peruvian congress, explains the UN Population Fund’s direct involvement.
Clinton
“continued to fund the UNFPA despite the stories of forced sterilization coming out of Peru and of forced abortions emerging from China….”
The Bush administration, on the other hand, was attacked for withholding funds from the UNFPA It was concerned about
“U.N. complicity in China’s one-child policy, under which women have been forced to abort.”
I think a parallel event was happening recently with Harper’s withdrawal of support for funding foreign abortion. This is the left-right paradigm in action. So Bush supporters had some temporary positive effect in curtailing this globalist population control agenda. But on the other hand, Bush supporters enabled the administration’s wars and attacks on the Bill of Rights. Clinton had wars, sanctions and all the rest too.

Peruvian Government Shelves Investigation into Massive Forced Sterilizations of Indigenous Women (lifesitenews.com, 6/19/2009)
“Peru’s government has decided to end its investigation against former health officials for thousands of forced sterilizations carried out during the late 1990s, under president Alberto Fujimori.”
“Human rights organizations have thoroughly documented evidence that women were physically coerced, threatened, tricked, and enticed with economic incentives during the implementation of the program, which sterilized a total of approximately 400,000 Peruvian women in just two years, 1997 and 1998, with the help of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).”
